STORE GUIDE

As jewellers use very specific lingo to describe our materials and products so as you navigate through our store you'relikely to come across some words and phrases you might not fully understand so we've created this page to bring you up to speed, to ensure you can complete your order with absolutely certainty!

LINGO

What does "6 on 6" mean?!

Whenever you see this on our store it means 6 on top and 6 bottom grillz! Or for example, an 8 on 8 would be 8 on top and 8 bottom.

Perm Cuts

Perm cuts are grillz made with an extra step, by adding thin and precise cuts in between the front of each tooth - this is to create a more permanent look to any set of grillz with 2 or more teeth and it's still one piece as the back is completely connected.

What does "VVS" mean?!

VVS stands from "VERY VERY SLIGHTLY INCLUDED." This is the highest rating that a diamond can have asides from flawless, and it means that the stone has almost no imperfections when looked at through a microscope, allowing the light to pass through and reflect as powerfully as possible. At G'DUP, we only provide the best stones to our clients which is why whether you decide to purchase lab grown or natural diamonds, they'll always be VVS!

MATERIALS

Dental Gold: (White, Yellow)

Dental gold is an alloy created specifically by dentists to imitate white and yellow gold, replacing it with a more affordable option for crowns and other dental work. It is a very durable material and most importantly has no reaction when worn in the mouth - even over prolonged periods of time with exposure to drinking, smoking, and eating! This makes it a very safe and wise choice as an alternative to 9ct or 18ct gold grillz.

9ct Gold: (White, Yellow, Rose)

9ct gold is made up of 37.5% gold and 62.5% other metals, as 24ct (100% pure gold) is very soft and easily damaged, making it unsuitable for jewellry or dental purposes. Mixing the gold with silver and copper makes it much more durable and long lasting! By tweaking the ratio by adding alternative metals, you can create different shades of gold: white, yellow, and rose.

18ct Gold: (White, Yellow, Rose)

Similarly to 9ct gold, 18ct gold has white, yellow, and rose options. It follows all the same principles as 9ct gold but sits at double the purity with a 75% gold content. This gives it a richer colour, bolder shine, and higher resistance to tarnishing.

Lab Diamond:

A lab diamond is a real diamond which has been produced in a lab under perfect scientific conditions that replicate and speed up the natural process. This means that instead of taking 3.3 billion years to form as a natural diamond does, we are now able to form a diamond in 6-10 weeks, depending on the size. This makes them much more affordable and accessible than natural diamonds with no loss in attractiveness or strength.
